Saudis agree to defer Pakistan’s oil payments

SINGAPORE (Reuters) - Saudi Arabia has agreed in principle to defer payments for crude oil sales to Pakistan expected to be worth about $5.9 billion (3 billion pounds) during Pakistan’s present July-June financial year, The Financial Times reported on Saturday.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. companies Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac said on Friday that their finances were sufficiently sound to withstand the housing crisis as government officials scrambled to restore confidence in the country’s two largest mortgage finance companies.

Oil pulls back from record above $147
