Moi, Åsk Wäppling a.k.a Dabitch, was just speaking about advertising (what else?) on RixFM radio with Roger, Titti and Gert of Rix MorronZoo. Not the first time we’ve been on the radio mind you, we chatted for an hour on the advertising show a few years ago - but it is the first time in Swedish. Not sure I made as much sense as I wanted too, considering the early hour for me. Should’ve taken that coffee intravenously. I really wanted to play R…

Andy Warhol’s prophecy was fulfilled with the advent of MTV’s programming and widespread reality television. We’re now seeing a new kind of micro-fame which lasts well beyond 15 minutes. You don’t have to have thousands of friends on My Space, Facebook or Twitter to feel like a "Weblebrity"—you can be the celebrity of your own s…

It all started with a flash of American superiority and a bruised royal ego. In 1851, a yacht owned by the New York Yacht Club easily beat 15 of the fastest British yachts in a race around the Isle of Wight. Surprised at the result, Queen Victoria was reported to have asked who had come second and was politely informed: ‘There is no second, your Majesty.’ The America’s Cup had begun.
After 156 years and 38 contests, the finally returned to Europe. In April of last year, yachts from 11 nations began competing in Valencia to see who would eventually race the current holder, the Swiss yacht Alinghi. It always is a massive event, but arguably those with the most to lose are not the yachtsmen or countries involved. In fact they play an almost peripheral role compared with the companies spending nine-figure sums to associate their brand with the event.

In our last ProBlogger Poll I asked readers whether they run RSS ads on their main blog. The results are in - 66% of you don’t run RSS ads on your blog.
What I find interesting is that 18 months ago I ran this same poll. The results were that 75% of readers didn’t run RSS ads on their blog. While there’s still a significant number of bloggers not doing RSS ads there’s been a definite shift.

Nike ILL Mobile is a project developed by Hub Strategy for Nike as part of their sponsorship of the AST Dew Tour (Mountain Dew’s Actions Sports Tour). The assignment was to get that reaction out of people enough that they would whip out their camera phone and send photos of it to their friends.
Since it was so out of the box the people at Hub Strategy put a crazy range of people on the concepting assignment including an architect, strategic planner, industrial designer, graphic designer and a copy writer.

Mitch from Technipages.com shot me an email this week asking me for advice on getting accepted into CPM banner ad networks like ValueClick, TribalFusion and others. He commented that while he has decent traffic (around 140,000 page views a month) he hadn’t had much luck with being accepted and asked for advice.
This is a question I’ve had numerous times so I thought I’d post my response (I have slightly edited from my original answer).
