As any marketer knows, it gets harder to “reach” consumers as media intake becomes more and more fragmented each year. And if you can’t make the people pay attention to the messages you’re blaring at them in the form of billboards and TV commercials, the next logical step is to pervade platforms where they a…

It has been a fascinating week and a half at PSFK. We launched our first book and using Blurb it got a lot of attention. A week on the product page has had over a thousand hits and we’ve sold a few dozen copies. If you were one of them - we’d love to read a review on your blog sometime.

Today I’ve been checking out Andy Beal’s latest venture - Trackur.
Trackur is an online reputation monitoring tool that has been developed for companies and individuals wanting to take a serious look at what is being said about them in the blogosphere. I can also see the possibilities for using this tool for higher end bloggers who want to track what’s being written about them and/or their niche topic.

A teen guy podcaster emailed me just the other day and in between my Blackberry, loaner computer and just over zealous deleting of email, his email is gone. If you’re out there and read Ypulse, please email me again…and apologies!

Consumer generated marketing truly shows that your brand has arrived and Macintosh is well known to have great brand image and loyalty. The following ode to Mac shows that there is no end in sight of that phenomenon, even if it is masqueraded as a music video for the song “again and again” of “the bird and the bee.” Or is this truly just fine guerrilla marketing for the band?Via: b…

AffilatePrograms.com just launched their new website. If you visited the site in the past, it pretty much looked like a directory with a forum. But now with their new design they have made a lot of improvements.
The site now concentrates on making affiliate marketing “simple”. A lot of people talk about making money through affiliate marketing, but newbies have a hard time understanding how this is possible. With the new AffiliatePrograms.com, they solve this problem by creating an e…

No, but we’d like to think that it did have some influence. We know that our efforts, at minimum, had a successful impact in the search engine results. At the time of announcement, Our 2012 Super Bowl wasn’t on any SERP - but by the announcement, we were the only city that had a site in the search engine results.
It may have been lofty, but one of the goals that P…

This was my first year at the NRA Conference. Aside from getting more exercise than I have, by walking, the show wasn’t a huge technology fest. Perhaps the coolest technology there (aside from Patronpath) were digital displays, known as digital signage.
Digital displays are large HDTV displays that display full media (video and graphics) and can adjust the messaging as needed. Within the food industry, there are some cool features - like connecting directly to Point of Sales systems to capture the latest prices - or to update the display dynamically to improve sales. Imagine a digital display at McDonalds that actually had a burger sizzling and a soda with bubbles popping in high resolution. It’s a great technology!

Quiet often these days I get asked to explain the core components in the Duct Tape Marketing small business marketing system. I’ve witnessed some pretty tremendous things when small business owners get that point.
I recorded a brief audio overview of the 7 key steps to creating a small business marketing system and thought I would share them with you here.
