Word On The StreetWORD VIDEOMicrosoft Earnings TradeMicrosoft (MSFT) is set to report earnings on Thursday after the bell. What is the trade? Adami thinks MSFT will report solid earnings and the stock will trade to $35. Najarian likes the way that MSFT is trading, but he said if it trades higher investors should sell the stock - it doesn’t seem to hold its gains well….

Producer prices accelerated in Spain in March, still driven by energy costs. The producer price index rose by 6.9% in year-ago terms in March, up from 6.6% in February. Meanwhile, in monthly terms, the PPI rose by 0.9% in March, following a rise of 0.5%. Higher costs are cutting into firms’ price-competitiveness and profitability and pose significant risks for industrial production and employment in that sector….

Occasionally we find ourselves with a number of topics which are all important, but do not provide the basis for a full column. These "musings" are still highly recommended for your consideration.
James Hamilton at Econbrowser takes a look at the unusual movements in InTrade’s prediction market contract for a recession in 2008. He correctly notes the thin trading, and the recent and temporary price decline. This is exactly our viewpoint. Commander Planet - RetailOn Wednesday’s special “Commander Planet” segment, Pete Najarian took a look at green traders for the retail sector. Najarian explained that with gas prices rising consumers are making less trips to the store and buying more in bulk. This is bullish for Costco (COST). Product maker ZClorox (CLX) recently launched a new line of products called Green Works, which contain 99% natural ingredients and come in biodegradable packaging. Colgate (COL) recently bought Tom’s of Maine toothpaste to grab share in the eco-market. Najarian said the best green retail trades are Wal-Mart (WMT) because they’re getting China to become more cautious about their carbon footprint, JC Penny(JCP) for its Simply Green label, Interface (IFSIA) which makes recycled carpet, and Apogee (APOG) for energy efficient glass.P…

Nobody was hotter than The Fly to start 2008. On Fire and funny and in your face. I have mostly stood aside and that has been tough, boring and unprofitable for the most part but the right thing to do. The Fly kept pushing. He was playing with the house’s money and he was hot. The world was (maybe still is) coming to an end and he was going to die the only rich guy on earth.
Things turned for ‘The Fly’ and his portfolio of death and armageddon. I think he got funnier, cockier and meaner. Problem is he started to ’sound smarter’ too and nobody is smarter than the market. One thing I want everybody to agree here and continue to remember is ‘SMART’ does not equal profits. You need to be flexible and practice money management.
