Here is a simple and honest proposition: Data interpretation should lead to conclusions, not the reverse.
If an analyst believes that an indicator is important, and trumpets news about that indicator, it is intellectually dishonest to abandon the measure when it moves the other way.
If one endorses the Baltic Dry Freight index, Dr. Copper, or the inverted yield curve, then one should be willing to change forecasts when those indicators reverse.

Cramer was out with bullish comments on natural gas pipeline and exploration company El Paso (EP). He explained that EP is only up 3% this year while its peer group is up an average 31%. He thinks investors haven’t bid up EP shares because they’re confused about what EP is - either a pipeline play or a production play? Cramer said it’s both and that’s why he is bullish on EP. He mentioned that rumors are floating around Wall Street that EP will split its two businesses and unlock hidden value. Even if they don’t split up the company, Cramer said both business are on fire. He said EP’s exploration and production business grew earnings by 92% year-over-year for the fourth-quarter and the firm plans to invest $4 billion to expand its pipeline network. He also likes that insiders are buying the stock. “El Paso is the cheapest natural gas play out there,” he said.

Cramer welcomed Gene Isenberg, chairman and CEO of Nabors industries (NBR) - the largest land driller for natural gas in the U.S. - to the “Mad Money” TV show Tuesday. Isenberg is famous for telling investors on a previous Mad Money episode that the time wasn’t right to buy shares of NBR. Isenberg now thinks the time is right for investors to get in NBR because the fundamentals in the industry are now favorable for his company. He said booming prices for oil and coal are helping to turn investors towards natural gas. As large natural gas fields come online the major drillers are looking to capitalize on a “gas rush.” The Marcellus Shale, is a large field located under several eastern U.S. states is about to be explored by Nabors - researchers think the Marcellus Shale could hold over 50 trillion cubic feet of natural gas worth as much as $1 trillion. Nabors also plans to explore in other U.S. locations and in the oil shale fields of Canada in an effort to keep up with surging demand. Cramer told market players to buy the stock it’ still cheap.
