Rate Cuts and Main Street Businesses
Besides serving as a prophylactic for U.S. stock markets, the Fed’s unusually urgent cut this morning is meant to bolster businesses and families feeling the strain of an increasingly squishy economy. Economists are predicting the Federal Open Market Committee isn’t through yet and will slice again next week at their policy meeting.
